Denver Flea is this weekend in the RiNo neighborhood, at the Exdo Event Center, and we are so excited to participate. You can find us just off 35th street, near the 35th and Larimer entrance to the event. We’re booth number 106. There is another entrance on 36th and Walnut, in case that is more conveniently located to where you park. We’ll be at the Flea for the whole weekend, June 25th-26th, 10 am to 6 pm.
Parking can be found in the neighborhood near the Exdo Center, or at the Rockies lot at 33rd and Blake for $15. I’d recommend looking in the neighborhood first. The Exdo Center is a super cool, multipurpose event center with a fairy-light lit alley and indoor and outdoor bars in the super hip RiNO neighborhood.
The event does cost $5.00 per person for entrance (kids 12 and under are free!) but if you purchase that ticket online, you get a free New Belgium beer of “Flea Margarita” which is a pretty good deal, knowing the average cost of a craft beer or cocktail in Denver these days.
But why does The Flea charge? In my opinion, it’s because it’s more like a social gathering than just a market. There are sitting areas, shade spots, plenty of bathroom facilities and on-site security. The cost of the event covers these incidentals, but it also covers the work that Denver Flea does to get the word out and get the community involved.
Denver Flea truly attracts new, small batch, super creative and very local businesses. At their last event, I found drinking vinegar flavored with persimmon and lavender, a dark chocolate bar made with bee pollen and jewelry made with locally sourced geodes and rocks! All the items were from small, cutting edge companies right here in Colorado.
I believe Denver Flea’s work to involve the community, run great events and engage their audience attracted these amazing vendors. If you're looking for something new, different or rare, come check out Denver Flea this weekend! And say hi to us at the yellow honey booth to grab a taste! :)
